back to team After graduating cum laude from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry in Louisville, Kentucky, Dr. Dean completed an externship at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington DC in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He also completed an internship, serving as Chief Resident in the Department of Dentistry and Oral Surgery, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio.

Dr. Dean is board certified in Conscious Sedation, is a diplomate of the ACSDD and the ABDSM, is a fellow of both the American Association of Hospital Dentists and the College of Conscious Sedation, American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. Additionally, he is board eligible in the American Academy of Pain Management and is certified by the American Heart Association in basic and advanced cardiac life support.

Currently he is a teaching staff member in the Department of Dental and Oral Surgery at Miami Valley Hospital, in Dayton, Ohio, holding staff privileges there as well as at Wayne Hospital in Greenville, Ohio, and Kettering Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio. Additionally, he is the staff dentist for 3 hospital-based sleep labs where he provides appliances for the treatment of sleep-disordered breathing and temporomandibular disorders.

Dr. Dean is Director of Outpatient Dental Surgery at Wayne Hospital in Greenville, Ohio. The outpatient dental surgery program, which he created in 2006, is dedicated to serving people with mental and developmental disabilities. Ron’s team of nurses and anesthesiologists help him provide dental care to these special needs patients. The program remains extremely successful, drawing in patients from hundreds of miles away.

Besides helping people in need, Ron enjoys spending time with his family and friends, teaching, and playing tennis and golf. He also enjoys aikido, a dynamic Japanese martial art.
