| back to team | A 1995 graduate of University of California, Irvine College of Medicine, Dr. Hardin is presently an associate professor of Clinical Internal Medicine at UC Davis Medical Center and is the director of the Sleep Medicine Fellowship Program. She is also the medical director of the Northern California Veterans Administration Sleep Program and Hospital Sleep Lab of the UC Davis Health System.
Some of her numerous non-university service areas include the following: consultant for the State of California, Medi-Cal Department, regarding CPAP, non-invasive, and invasive mechanical ventilation in the home setting; expert witness/advisory consultant for medical-legal cases including sleep forensics, medical case review, and nursing case review. Additionally, she is the California Thoracic Society representative, providing regulatory and medical recommendations for polysomnography. Dr. Hardin reviews manuscripts for the journal, Chest. Dr. Hardin’s research includes sleep deprivation in the ICU patient and the development of new bedside neurophysiologic monitoring techniques in patients receiving neuromuscular blocking agents. Sleep and sedation in the critically ill, obesity and sleep apnea, diagnostic techniques, COPD, quality of life, and critical care ventilator strategies are Dr. Hardin’s areas of interest. |
