| back to team | Dr. David E. Rawson is a 1974 graduate of Dentistry from the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, Canada. Upon graduation, he spent five years as a Dental Officer in the Canadian Armed Forces serving in Halifax, Nova Scotia and Kingston, Ontario.
He opened a general practice in London in 1979 and soon developed a keen interest in the dynamics of the oral facial complex and maturing dentition. He uses Orthodontics to treat unfavourable conditions early in children. Since 1998 Dr. Rawson has traveled extensively throughout North America to study with the leaders in chronic head and neck pain, temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMD), orthodontics and sleep disordered breathing including snoring and sleep apnea. Dr. Rawson is committed to educating his colleagues. He has been an adjunct clinical professor for over 16 years at his alma mater, the School of Dentistry, UWO. He is a founding member of the Canadian Chapter of the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain (AACP) and served as its President from 2009 to 2011. Dr. Rawson serves on the Board of the AACP and is the Founder and President of the S.M.I.L.E., an Orthopedic Study Club for his colleagues in SW Ontario. He has lectured to various dental study groups and stays active and maintains a keen interest in a number of organizations in his profession. Dr. Rawson is a Diplomate of the American Board of Craniofacial Pain, a Fellow of the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain and a Fellow of the International College of Dentists. Dr. Rawson is a member of the Canadian Dental Association (CDA), International Association for Orthodontics (IAO), American Association for Functional Orthodontics (AAFO), Ontario Dental Association (ODA), London & District Dental Society (LDDS), and the London Academy of Dental Studies (LADS). He is married and has three sons and enjoys photography and playing squash. He also has his pilot’s license and enjoys flying. |
